I guess I called it last week when I noted I may or may not manage to do this every week. Well, I can probably manage weekly, but specific days, not so much. In all honesty, if it comes down to soaping or blogging, I am probably going to pick soaping. Without further ado, the soaps of the week!
French clay facial soap: The same recipe as my french green clay facial soap, but with red and green clays in a cool yin-yang pattern.
CocoMaNana Soap: I am really excited to try this soap. I used multiple new ingredients including coconut milk, mango butter and banana puree, hence the name. This soap heated up fast in the mold. It went from zero to gelled in just a few minutes, as you can see below. This was likely due to the high sugar content in bananas.
Cherry Blossom shea soap: Nothing super fancy this week. Just my usual shea butter recipe with cherry blossom fragrance and creamy pink swirls. I also added silk into the lye solution. Yes, silk. Pretty cool, huh?
Cider Spice soap: Made with one of my favorite hard ciders, this soap has an spicey, cider, cinnamon smell. I tried making this soap a few months ago, forgot one of the oils and it ended up useable, but not as pretty as I’d hope. This beautiful circular swirl is how I’d always hoped it would look.
Nothing tested and no in progress (I haven’t soaped since Saturday), but I already have one on the list to show you next week, with a beautiful yellow swirl pattern.
