About the Company

Well, if you've read the "About Me" page, you know Clean Line Soap Company is really just one person.  Hi, I'm Jessica, and I'm a soap addict.

I bought my first bar of handmade soap when my husband and I were camping in a small town in the mountains of NC.  It was probably a citrus scent, because I adore all things orange and lemon, and I when I got in my shower and washed with it, I was immediately in love.  I'd always used whatever body wash was on sale, but this. this soap was worth every penny.

I hadn't even realized you could MAKE soap on your own before that, and being the kind of DIY person I am, I started reading and learning.  It took me months to assemble all the oils, and lye, and materials I would need to make soap, and I think I read through the three or four books I'd picked multiple times.  But I made soap!  I did it!  My first batch was in an old pyrex dish, didn't have any color or scent, and was probably almost all olive oil.  It was scary, and fun, and creaive and artistic, and I was immediately in love with the process as much as the product.

I spent the next year making batches for friends.  I spent another year or two perfecting the recipes that are the base for all the soaps I carry now.   Here I am, at least six years out from that first batch, making soap as often as I can, and loving every minute of it.

I use mostly olive oil and coconut oils.  I use cosmetic grade colorants and fragrances, both specifically formulated for soapmaking, and bath and body products.  And because Clean Line Soap Company is just me, I make every batch of soap, bath bombs, and bubble bars (and whatever else eventually gets added to the product line) myself.  Myself, my husband, and my children are very happy product testers as well (so no testing on animals, unless you count my kids)!.

I hope you love every product you get from me, as much as I loved making it for you.  Enjoy getting clean!

Best,
Jessica Guptill
